Vicar – Revd Claire Goode
Claire is the 0.5 Vicar at St Andrew’s Church.
Claire has been here at St Andrew’s since July 2014 and has a husband Pete who is often up ladder, down drains or canoeing on the River Trent. Claire and Pete have 4 young adult children who turn up from time to time.
As part of her ministry, Claire is one of the team of people trained by the diocese in Spiritual Accompaniment (also known as Spiritual Direction). She also leads occasional retreats at Launde Abbey and Quiet Days here at St Andrew’s.
When Claire is not working as Vicar she spends her time designing and making creative textiles- patchwork quilts, wall hangings, table mats and other items. She also knits and occasionally does a bit of crochet and is currently experimenting with Japanese Sashiko embroidery. St Andrew’s Church also provides her with exhibition space and the local “Patchwork for Pleasure” quilt exhibition is held here every 2 years.
Claire’s usual working days are Sundays and Monday to Wednesday.
Church Administrator– Mrs Nikola Voce
Nikola is usually the first point of contact for people new to St Andrew’s. She can point you in the direction of a range of different people who take on responsibilities in the church.
The Church Office is usually open on Mondays and Wednesdays 9.30 am to 3.30pm for personal callers. At other times, please phone or email.
The Parochial Church Council (PCC)
The PCC acts as our leadership team, as guardians of the church vision.
As part of the is role it oversees the financial and legal stewardship of the church.
St Andrew’s Church has two churchwardens, two deanery synod representatives and a PCC with 6 elected members (including a treasurer and secretary).
St Andrew’s Church is part of the Nottingham South Deanery in the Nottingham Archdeanery of the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham.
